WORKHOLDING REPAIRS
In the past SIR has served countless customers in the United States repairing NC workholding equipment such as ROHM, SMW/Autoblok, Cushman, Buck Forkardt, Kitagawa and many others. SIR is an authorized distributor for ROHM,SMW/Autoblok, MW Systems, Schunck and Strong.
What repairs can be accomplished on this type of equipment?
Most repairs that are needed we find are due to a lack of lubrication or simply old age. Air leaks and loss of clamping force are usually caused by pitting, gauling and corrosion.
At SIR we can stop these problems by grinding, hard chroming and regrinding all sealing surfaces. Chrome is a harder substance that does not corrode or pit, this in turn, will give you a longer lasting seal area.
Another problem you may be experiencing is a loss of concentricity (not clamping center), which can be caused by usage and a lack of lubrication. This can be repaired by replacing or
repairing the master juws and wedge. The repair process is effective on all types of workholding including chucks (power, manual, indexing, compensating, and self-contained), steady rests (hydraulic and pneumatic), hydraulic actuating cylinders, hydraulic clamping devices.
